Rain Barrel Program
Houston Public Works and the Green Building Resource Center offer rain barrel sales twice a year, providing 50-gallon rain barrels at a municipal discounted price to help make residential water harvesting more accessible and affordable. Rain barrels must be purchased in advance, as indicated on the flyer below.

Why use a rain barrel?
Rain barrels capture water from a roof and hold it for later use such as on lawns, gardens or indoor plants. Collecting roof runoff in rain barrels reduces the amount of water that flows from your property. It's a great way to conserve water and it's free water for use in your landscape.
