Goldwater Dashboard Planning Tool

Houston Water is dedicated to ensuring a sustainable and reliable water supply for the City of Houston and its customer water utilities. As a wholesale water provider, Houston Water supplies treated water to more than 60 water authorities and utility customers, distributing more than 50 billion gallons annually.

To safeguard this vital resource, Houston administers the Wholesale Water Conservation Program (WWCP) with the following objectives:

  • Manage Growing Demand: Assist customer utilities in managing long-term water needs as the region’s population continues to grow.
  • Cost-Effective Conservation: Provide tailored roadmaps that lower barriers to conservation and reduce peak monthly demand.
  • Optimize Resources: Coordinate with utility stakeholders to align conservation efforts with customer agreements and regional goals.
Why Should a Wholesale Customer Join the WWCP?

Houston Water is offering its WWCP free of charge to wholesale customers. Through a partnership with Goldwater’s Blue Platform, this program provides advanced conservation planning tools and expert consulting services that help utilities achieve measurable water savings. Key benefits include:

  • Simplified Reporting: Automates and streamlines Texas Water Development Board reporting, reducing administrative work.

  • Scenario Planning: Compare conservation strategies with built-in cost-benefit analysis to guide decision-making.

  • Stakeholder Support: Generate reports and presentations for city councils, MUD boards, and internal teams to build support for conservation efforts.

  • Real-Time Tracking: Monitor conservation savings and assess progress toward regulatory goals.

  • Data-Driven Insights: Test different water-saving scenarios, quantify impacts, and create detailed demand management reports for stakeholders.

  • Time Savings: Spend less time on reporting and planning, allowing utilities to focus on daily operations.

Results You Can See:

Participating utilities typically save 2%–15% of annual water demand, unlocking both environmental and financial benefits.
