Property Owners Should Prepare for Lower Lake Levels

HOUSTON - Houston Public Works will temporarily lower Lake Houston by 12-inches in preparation for the upcoming rain event from Tropical Storm Beryl. Lowering will begin at 4 a.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2024. It takes 20 hours to lower Lake Houston by 12-inches. The lake level will be reduced to an elevation of 41.4 feet. 

Property owners should secure property along the shoreline.
