Important Pedestrian Bridge Closure Information
Houston Public Works (HPW) closed the MKT pedestrian bridge at Hogan Street and White Oak Bayou on February 4, 2025, for safety concerns due to severe structural damage. HPW, along with the Houston Parks and Recreation Department, put up signage about the closure and are working to provide detour signs for the community. We recommend anyone who uses the bridge either use the detour pictured below, take Houston Avenue to Washington Avenue to get to Downtown Houston, or take Hogan Street to Main St. The city is taking immediate action to bring in contractors to repair the bridge. We will continue to update the community once we have a timeline for repairs.
