City of Houston Rescinds Stage One of the Drought Contingency Plan

HOUSTON - The City of Houston will rescind Stage One of the City's Drought Contingency Plan, effective May 29, 2024. Houston Public Works recommended rescinding Stage One due to the increased rainfall and steady reservoir levels following recent storms.


City of Houston water customers are reminded to continue everyday efforts to prevent the loss of water: 
 
•    Check for and repair all leaks, dripping faucets, and running toilets.  
•    Check sprinkler heads to make sure water is not spraying into the street or directly into storm drains.
